St Ives is undoubtedly one of our favourite locations in Cornwall, and back in April, we were lucky enough to be there for two weddings! For Naomi & Codi's day, we were at the Harbour Hotel, which was a stunning backdrop, for what turned out to be a perfect day.

Codi, being from South Africa meant that some of his family had travelled thousands of miles to be there, which made the day feel even more special, the day was filled with tears of happiness and laughter in equal measure which led to some really lovely moments to capture throughout the day.

Naomi & Codi's ceremony was lovely, set in front of the Ocean, they did a sand blending ritual, mixing sand brought from South Africa with sand from the beaches of St Ives. It was one of those ceremony touches that sounds simple on paper but landed beautifully in the room, and even more beautifully in the photographs.

After the ceremony we slipped away for a short walk down to the beach. One of the advantages of both me and Sophie shooting the day together, meant that while I was close with Naomi and Codi, Sophie stayed back at the hotel and captured the guests during the cocktail hour, but it also meant that she was able to capture an epic wide shot of the two of them against the vast open ocean.

Then came the singing waiters. Naomi had managed to keep this completely secret from guests, from family, and most impressively from Codi. Midway through the wedding breakfast one of the waiters collapsed to the floor. The room went from confused, to stunned, to absolutely erupting with laughter as he launched into song. Codi's face in that moment is one of our favourite photographs from the day. Naomi even managed to pull off some great acting and looked very concerned for the waiter who had fallen!

Then the party started, and if you've ever wondered how to close out a wedding, Codi got up on stage with the band and delivered an incredible rendition of Sweet Child O' Mine that brought the house down. The perfect end to a perfect St Ives Wedding.
